Hi! My name is Issariyaphorn Boonyawiroch or Som-o, but everyone called me “Som”. It was totally fun and great to be in Opihi College. I went there with my younger brother, and now he is still there. I was there for only one year as year 11st student because I took GED test in order to finish high school earlier than usual. However, I would not be able to get this degree if I did not take parts in Opihi College. Opihi College gives many opportunities to students especially overseas students. I had a chance to participate in many clubs such as production and dance club including more events, which helped me a lot on improving my English skills. Moreover, I had chance to take Japanese class as my 2nd language, and I do love it. My Kiwi friends were nice and friendly to me. They always help me in class. I can honestly say that I enjoyed going to every class because my teachers were very kind and spent their time after class to answer every question that I do not understand. As a result, after I finished year 11, I felt that my English had improved a lot especially on speaking as I used it in my daily life.

I have been in Temuka for 1 year and 8 months.  My homestay family is very funny, and I also live with 2 other international students. Sometimes science class is very difficult, but I always try my best. Also I am very happy, because this year I can go home early to Hong Kong when I finish in November.

This is Karze from Hong Kong and I have been in Temuka for 2 years. Here is so small and there are not many shops, I still love here though and love New Zealand people - they are so good to me. I’m coming back next year and I love you guysJ!

My name is Mook from Thailand and I have been in Temuka for 8 months. My host family is very kind. School is fun and not hard if you try. I love talking with Kiwi students and they are kind to me.

There are only a few shops in Temuka. It is a place of farmlands. It looks natural and there are a lot of sporting activities we can do.  We can play music in the school orchestra and go to another town for shopping.  We can go skiing, snowboarding and ice skating the ski field is very close to us only an hour drive!!

I have been in Temuka for 8 months. My homestay has two very cute babies and I like to play with them.  I really enjoy it here. By Tim.

I have been in Temuka about 4 months. It’s a small town and I like here. I enjoy playing soccer with the Kiwi students.  My homestay is very good and I like my school because there are not many students.
