Thank you for your interest in applying to attend Opihi College.

Enrolment at the school is governed by The Ministry of Education enrolment scheme. All in-zone students have the right to attend Opihi College. In-zone applications are accepted at any time, however, please apply early to enable planning for next year. Out-of-zone ballot applications for 2026 will be open on the 15th of September 2025.

You can arrange an enrolment interview and tour of our school by calling the school office on (03) 6157442  during school hours.

When completing the enrolment form either online or by paper copy, you will need to supply copies of the following documents. Enrolments will not be accepted without these documents provided at the time of submission:

• Your student's birth certificate (if born in NZ) or passport.
• If you are not a New Zealand or Australian citizen or resident you will need scanned copies of the student's visa.
• Proof of residential address. A utilities bill, council rates statement, bank statement, tenancy agreement or similar.

Am I in-zone?

Opihi College operates an enrolment scheme. Students residing within the school zone have priority right of entry. The Board of Trustees will determine, each year, whether it will offer any places for out of zone enrolments.

OUT OF ZONE SPACES APPLICATIONS FOR START 2026
Applications open 15th September 2025; close 15th October 2025 at 5pm.
If required ballot will be held on the 17th of October 2025.

Places available by year level:
YEARS 7, 8, 9, and 10 - 5 places at each year level.
YEARS 11, 12, 13 - 2 places at each year level.
Total places available: 26.
